Question How to install memory which slots for MOB Gigabyte AORUS Elite AX V2

Hi,

i have read the MOB manual but i am confused as to which slots to put my memory. Can someone help me?

I have the following MOB: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite Ax V2 . I think this is the web site for it:https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550-AORUS-ELITE-AX-V2-rev-10#kf

The memory that i have is as follows: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C18D-32GVK

i have two memory sticks (not sure of terminology) of 16G each. Total of 32G.

They go in 2nd and 4th slot from cpu.

Thanks!!!!!!! So thats A2 and B2............is this right? i wonder why they do it this way........why dont they just make it the first two slots.......just wondering. thanks.

I don't know the technicalities if there are any other than the reason for accommodating tower coolers blocking first dimm slot 😁

A lot of motherboards do A2 and B2 very common for dual channel memory. I wished they would color code them, or if you always fill up all 4 slots you never have to worry about the order .

More like 99% of motherboards. And the reason is that the cooler can block the first slot and you can't have dual channel if one of the slots can't be used.
