How to install net framework in windows 7. please explain in detail

I wanted to install and work on dot net software. Plz explain where to download and what are the programs to download and install to work on dot net. Plz explain in detail steps.

.net V3.5 is built into windows 7 by default and you cant download and install it.

If you goto the add/remove programs thing and click on "windows components" on the left, you will see it in the list with the option to uncheck/check it.

You can install .net 4.0 via MS update.
