How to install OS with no operating system installed

So a couple of weeks ago, my computer's hard drive failed which led to me not having a working computer. But just recently I acquired a portable external ssd from one of my friends. It has nothing on it(besides a file of ubuntu that I tried to install but didnt work) and I need help installing an operating system on it. I am very limited in recources, as I am currently at a prep school and I am writing this on my roommates computer. If someone could please help me that would be great, I am so desperate!!!! If there is no way any alternatives that relate to a usb can work, but I prefer using the portable ssd that i have. Thanks guys

If you are writing from another persons computer, ask them to download the Windows Media Creation/Installation Tool.

Install the program

Run it

Select the portable SSD to create a windows OS On

Create windows 10 32/64 Bit Operating system

Once it's finished, unplug the SSD and plug it into your computer via whatever method ( Preferably USB ) DO THIS WHILE THE PC IS OFF!!!

Switch the computer on, and keep pressing the "Delete" Key to get into the BIOS. If that didn't work, restart the PC And Press the F8 Button Repeatedly to get into the BIOS.

Once you are in the BIOS, find a section which allows you to select "Boot Priorities" or something of the sort.

Select the portable SSD as the first boot priority.

Restart the PC

The windows installation will come up.

Install windows on the HDD, NOT THE SDD.

Once it is done, either the computer will restart or whatever, at this point, UNPLUG THE SSD!!

Go back into the bios via restarting pc and del/f8 whatever

Select the boot priority as the HDD

Save changes in bios and it should log you into windows.
