I'm currently booting in UEFI mode with no problem but when I turn on secure boot the HDD is not detected anymore. what am I missing here why cant the computer detect the HDD when secure boot is on?

even if i have to reinstall windows (which iam already thinking of since it has been years since the last time I did this) what should I keep in mind while installing it to turn on secure boot

Solution
Secure Boot must be enabled before an operating system is installed. If an operating system was installed while Secure Boot was disabled, it will not support Secure Boot and a new installation is required.
