How to install XP from an .exe file.

Hello.
I have this XP.exe file and, as an exercise, I want to install the full OS in a laptop with blank HDD.
But I do not know how to go about it.
Can anyone help?

Legitimate Windows XP was never an .exe file. That sounds like the short road to a virus to me!!!

I'm not proficient in SW, I just found that file in the Web.

This is either:
A - A virus
B - A pirated OS
C - Both A and B
