Question how to know if my laptop supports an nvme pcie gen3*4 or gen3*2

Recently i bought an ssd nvme gen34 but the software for the ssd shows that the current interface is pcie gen 32
and supported interface is pcie gen 34, does it mean that my laptop only supports pcie gen 32?
