Hi

I have a old Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop with 4GB RAM and a duo 2 CPU at about tire 3 (cant remember), Nvidia TN137.

I want to us it as a plex server, NAS, seed box and 24/7 video player. I was wondering what speed each of the following slots/ports can produce; 3x mini PCIe, 1394, express card and eSATA. I want to run a 6tb sata 3 HDD.

If all is good I can upgrade it to the T9900 cpu and 8gb ram.
I can't afford 2x 3 inch 3tb drives for it's native sata 3 slots.

Any thought's ?
Like should I just go to ebay and get something different ? Like a mini pc ?

That's a GM45 chipset, you might want to forgo doing anything on that antiquated laptop. That chipset will only go as far as SATA II speeds meaning 3 Gb/s.

My 2 cents on the matter.
Ok well I guest the sata 2 is not terrible for me.
Any pointers on what port I should use for a big 5 inch HDD ? I prefer not to have the boot system on the big 5 inch NAS HDD. So what port for boot/OS and what port for the NAS ?
