LOL, ignore this. 2 minutes after I posted this I just by luck stumbled upon how to get RealTemp to auto shutdown.

Hi everybody,

I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a way to make your PC shutdown or hibernate automatically if the temps get too high.
I know that the CPU will throttle if it reaches TJ Max but I want something the will stop it if it reaches 80/85c.

I use RealTempGT and I noticed there is an option for an alarm to sound when the core temps hit whatever you set it to, and there's an option to run a .exe when this temp is reached. So is this an option, is there a way to get RealTemp to shut it down???

Would appreciate any input and advice.
Cheers

Necro'ed a 2 year old thread, but I don't mind 😉

You need either:
# RealTemp (For 2-4 Core CPUs)
# RealTempGT (For 6 core CPUs)
# RealTemp i7TurboGT (For 8 core CPUs)

Click "Settings", then locate "Alarm Temperatures" and tick the box.
Now input the temp you want RealTemp to Auto shutdown your PC at. I selected 90c for my CPU which has a TJMax of 105c.
Now click the button called "Alarm EXE" and click the "Files of type" at the bottom and change it to ".BAT" file.
Then select the "RTShutDown.bat".

Click ok, then apply. All done, now your PC will auto close everything and shutdown if it gets hot :)

How you did that? I need to do exactly same.
