Ok, so I typically have around 80ms on my computer when speaking about wifi I think it is (not a computer guy) which I am very ok with, its about all I need to play the game I like online, League of Legends. I have 3 brothers who also play online games such as Xbox and their computers as well. All is fine no matter how many people we have on unless *dun dun dun* my brother turns on his computer. The ping then spikes anywhere from 500-9000 and it is impossible to do anything on any computer besides his (which is not lagging at all). I don't know if this is because he is playing WoW because I heard that may be it or what but it pisses me off because we should all have the same connection and not him having the best by far. Are there any simple ways to fix this?

Simplest fix, don't use WiFi. Aside from that, there are other options. I would suggest taking as many devices off WiFi as possible, and whoever has the worst connection, if it can't be hardwired, maybe try using a powerline device, or something to get that connection a little bit better.

WoW can be a demanding game as far as your connection, if everyone else is also playing online games, it might also be time to look into upgrading your internet speed or your router.

Is your brothers computer hardwired or does it also use WiFi?

Sounds like he has a compromised computer that may be contributing to DDOS attacks or any of a myriad of nefarious activities ...

Could maybe be hardware .... defective card on his machine (you didn't say if it was wired) that slows your home (switch?) to a crawl.

I would download a bootable version of linux, start his pc with that .... check for issues.
If none, probably not hardware ...

Then join it to the internet, surf around ... if no issues, most likely software related on his machine.

At this point I'd just reinstall his machine see if that resolves your issue.

Else if you determine it's hardware related, swap out network card, cables etc ...

Everyone uses Wifi, and his friend just recently built the computer so I doubt there is any viruses on it. I heard you can make it so bandwidth or something mostly goes to one computer, and seeing that his friend built it maybe he did that so they can play more without lag

You could set up port forwarding for most devices to try to alleviate some of the delays. The hardware concern is also a good point, even though it's a built computer, could still be something going on. Might be worth having him redo his drivers and things like that. One other thing I have seen similar to this issue, one time, was that (I do tech support for an ISP) a customer had burned through the router based on the amount of traffic he was sending through it. As soon as he powered on his computer everyone had problems, and they were all hardwired. It might be worth considering at least updating firmware on router or trying a different router temporarily.

Has your brother virus scanned his computer recently? My brothers computer does the same thing to our net, and even though I suggested to him that it is his fault, and that he needs to scan his computer, he refused to take my words seriously, and played a song with lyrics that were clearly directed at me as an insult, like he doesn't even care.... And all I want to do is play a game of league without 1600 ping.

He does not take care of his computer, and last time he used free virus removal programs like malwarebytes to clean his computer of viruses, the results were unbelievable... And the problem subsided for a while at least..

If at the very least, have him clan his computer up of all malware... If that doesn't help, I got nothing for you.
