How to make printer wireless

Hi,

I have a wired Canon printer and a sony vaio laptop. I want to access my printer wirelessly through my laptop though I know my printer is wired. Is there any way to doing this with minimum spending? I have a wireless router which i use to access internet wirelessly though my laptop..

Please can anyone help me.

If your router has print server features? you can. Otherwise here are your options:

1 - get a new router with print server
2 - get a new printer with wireless feature
3 - find a printer adapter (printer server) to use your printer wireless with or without the router
4 - if you have an old computer to use and convert as a print server but not energy effecient.

Check the manufacturers website if they have additional plugin cards for wireless communication.
HP has an external module that converts wired printers into wireless using bluetooth communication.
