So I have managed to add another router to my network so it acts as an access point
Everything is working perfectly
but when I try to change both routers SSIDs to the same with the same password the networks just turn dummy and make a big fat conflict
is it possible to have them with the same SSID and password?

Solution
Disable NAT and DHCP on the second router and connect your wire from your router to a LAN port, NOT A WAN port! This way it should act as a simple AP just like the switch/ap in the first router does. They both get the 'signal' from the router (specifically the router, not the whole device.)
