Question How to make Win 10 run old, Dx9 games as well as Win 7?

I've made a small comparison using the same pc with Win 7 and Win 10 to run Mafia 2(dx9) and ETS2(dx11).
The simple result is that Win 7 runs Mafia 2 better by 5fps and on the other hand, Win 10 runs ETS2 faster by 5 fps.

Is there a way to make Win 10 run old games (such as Mafia 2) as well as they do in older Windows OS's?

PS: I've tried running Mafia 2 on Win 10 in compatibility mode to no avail.

Thank you, Lutnj, but those are meant for dx11 games to run in dx9. What I actually need is for a native Dx9 game to run
in Win 10 as fast and as smooth as in Win7.

Do you use the exact same driver version for both OS?
It could also be the simple fact that mafia2 is a 32 bit game that will run better on the 32bit win7 while the other game is designed for 64bit and runs better on the 64bit win11.

I have drivers I downloaded fom AMD's official site, I downloaded and installed drivers for their corresponding OS(One for Win7 and the other for Win10)

Also, I 'm leaning toward your opintion when it comes to the OS' architecture for each game. Mafia 2 came out in 2010 while this ETS2 version is from 2020.

But let me ask one thing, 5FPS difference from what? If you're getting like 200 FPS on Windows 7, 5 FPS is not something worth pursuing. If it was more like 40-50 FPS, then it becomes a bit more justifiable.

Yes but if they have different versions of the driver for win 7 and 10 that could explain the difference as well.

Actually, I'm geting about 55 fps with Mafia 2 and about 65 fps from ETS2 - both on average on both Win7 and Win10.

In absolute numbers 55 fps on Win7 and 51 on Win10(Mafia 2)

And 70 on Win7 and 75 on Win10(ETS2).
