so i have two 2.5 inch drives lay around and was wondering can i mount them into my 3.5 inch bays without an adapter?
What DIY methods are they ? will sticking it to somthing be fine ,but would shock pretty much ruin the HDD ?

thanks !

Are you planning on using (slow) laptop hard drives in a desktop PC?

Regardless, you can mount your drives however you please. I've seen some do it with zip ties, and tie it to anywhere it would look good, or stay. And personally, for a few of my computers, I've just let it sit in the larger bay as I have no plans on moving the drive.

I have (in the wifes PC) a 2.5" drive living in a 3.5" bay, suspended with criss-crossed wire ties. It has been there for 18 months, 24/7 use.
I've also had drives (2.5" or 3.5") simply resting in the bottom of the case.
Or sticky Velcro might work.

As long as it isn't bounced around, I see no real problem.

is there a link to the zip tie idea ? i have way to many zip ties

If I can, I'll get a pic. Hang on.

Here. Seriously, it's just under and over, and through the regular mount holes.
