I'm looking for a bracket or adapter or ?? (not sure what to call it) that will allow me to mount a standard hard drive in the optical bay of a Dell Optiplex 7020 MT.

Have been searching the Internet without success.

Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

The cheap option for a 3.5 inch desktop HDD is to use brackets like these -- https://www.newegg.com/p/2KH-0080-00336
Just search for "5.25 in to 3.5 in adapter"

As an alternative to waiting for a shipment from China, check local computer parts / service shops. these adapters were common some time ago, so you may find them in a shop for used computer parts.

Thanks Paperdoc. I've looked for a used computer parts store in my area and have not found one so online is probably my best option.
