how to open micro sd on my computer

hello, I've got a Kingston 4gb micro SD adapter and I have a slot on my computer to insert it into, like a phone does with a memory card. But basically whenever I insert the SD card, the folder for the card doesn't show up and I don't know how to open it no matter where I look on my computer, and also I don't know how to save things from my computer onto it. would anyone be able to help me?

Hi there I have had a problem with the adapters and a few of them do not work with my computer. So it maybe that the adapter is not working. Have you plugged it in with the memory card in it ? do you get a beep or noise notifying you that its reading it ? if so look in my computer for the removable drive and it should be in there if you get no noise try a different card adapter ? What is the memory card for as you may be better of putting it in the device its for ? then hooking your device up to the computer and getting to it that way? look forward to seeing if i have helped you in any way
