How to Optimize a Game for Your Rig? (DayZ)

Just installed my new GPU into my computer and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the performance. Here's my current build:

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 830 @ 2.8 GHz
GPU: GTX 750 TI SC
RAM: 6 GB

Obviously this isn't an ideal setup, it's my family PC with a 750 TI inside. However, I feel as though this rig should be able to run DayZ at low settings at a suitable frame rate, however its struggling. It keeps dropping to arount 15 and peaks at around 40. I've tried using the "Geforce Experience" app to optimize my games, but that isn't working.

Anyone have any advice on how to get my games to run as best as possible?

If this isn't the mod Dayz but the Alpha Dayz Standalone then considering what I saw online it seemed like the games FPS dropped more due to a weaker CPU than anything else. But then again this is a game in the Alpha stage of development where most developers are just trying to get the features in and sorta working while fixing game breaking bugs. When it gets further along I would expect to see performance improvements. It is also possible that the game is not being compiled with CPU optimizations at present the build may even be built using debug settings which adds more code for the CPU to work through.

it might have been a bad server or something cause im getting high settings and a solid 30 right now

That can be the case especially depending on the way the game is coded. It is likely waiting on data from the server before it posts another frame to the screen and in this case if you are on a server where you have a high ping your FPS will suffer greatly.
