Serious question.
I also don't know if this is the correct thread for this.
1. Go to Start > Shut down > unplug socket
2. Go to Start > Shut down > switch the PSU to off > unplug socket
I think I read somewhere that switching the PSU on and off very often is very unhealthy to the system.
Anyone's help is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Shut down through Windows in the normal way.

No need to turn off the PSU or unplug it from the mains socket unless you are going on holiday and you want peace of mind, in which case you just unplug it from the mains socket. Pointless switching off the PSU at the back of the case as well since unplugging it effectively does that anyway. It only makes sense to switch off the PSU if, for example, you can't get to the mains socket to unplug it.

Shutting your pc off from the start menu is the way to go. After it has shutdown (no noise is coming from the pc and no lights are on) you can switch the psu switch off. It's basically the same as unplugging it.

Just don't take off the sidepanel without uplugging it properly.
