Yes I did. There are also email options a related content option near the top of the Preferences.
Did you remember to click the SAVE button?
The options in both places are unchecked. Also nice reference. 😂I would tell you how I did it but I have never received any emails from this forum since we swapped software, so I didn't really have to. All of mine are ticked still.
IN theory that is where you change them.
Settings/preferences.
oddly, it also shows in Settings/Account details screen
Obvious question: Why is it two places in settings? I can't answer that question (Gets thrown into a pit (If you don't understand that reference, refer link))
I haven’t tried that as of posting, but I will.I wonder if logging out and then back in will apply the settings.
I’ve logged out and logged back in, and it didn’t work. And I am wondering if "Stay logged in" has some effect?
I currently have it set to stay logged in.What is your current setting for stay logged in?
I am willing to tinker with my settings somewhat but I need some baseline to begin with.
I know that I have a ton of threads that I have watched or replied to that have email notifications, but it doesn’t explain why it happens with new threads despite disabling all email notifications. What is your current setting for stay logged in?

Under account details, both options for email notifications are unchecked. What are your email settings under Account Details?
Otherwise not sure what else to suggest.....
a new thread is any thread that a user creates in certain forums. I just want to stop receiving all email notifications, but without going through every single thread I’ve ever watched or replied to, I don’t know how else to do it.What is being considered as a new thread?
Look for some pattern(s).
Threads where notifications were received but you should not have received notifications - at least from your perspective.
And then, of course the opposite, you expected a notification but did not receive a notification.
I think I fixed it, I didn’t realize there was an option to disable all emails that I could click. I will wait and see though. Edit: thanks everyone for their help, I fixed it. I didn’t even know there was an option inside the emails to disable them because I wouldn’t read the emails, I would go straight to the forums.Do you have any watched forums? There is an options screen in https://forums.tomshardware.com/watched/forums that lets you manage them, and change notification settings for them.
same applies for https://forums.tomshardware.com/watched/threads
I like being notified, but because I follow so many forums, the amount of emails is ridiculous. I know I could change the settings so I don't get emails every single time something happens, but still. I think I have gotten about 8,000 emails since changing my email to a personal one. I know I should delete them, but I don't check my personal email often.I actually do get one email from one of the tom's forums, just not this one. Tom's Guide sends me emails sometimes, I noticed yesterday. I wonder if something went wrong when we split up in 2019. But I can live without emails![]()
I do wish I would have gotten an email for my first best answer, I know it doesn't matter and that it is stupid, but I wish there was some way I could find it. Changing my username seemed to mess it up though.I used to get an email for every Best Answer and well, I have a Gmail folder with 464 emails in it - I must have deleted more at some stage. Last one dated Feb 12 2019. 276 are unread as I used to get too many.
Then we got Xenforo and I never got one again.
