How to recycle old hard drive with Windows 7 on it?

I have a slightly old but still perfectly good hard drive from an old computer that I want to install in my newer one. I'm not exactly sure how to do this. Can I just plug it in, assuming I still boot in through my primary hard drive, and then access it somewhere to do a fresh partition and formatting? Just need some guidance because I'm not the most tech-capable person, and the fact that I'm plugging in another hard drive with windows on it just seems weird. Please help!

Yeah. It's usually just plug n' play. You might just have to set at drive letter only because it's already been partitioned but you still should format it.

As long as you plug it into a different SATA port on your mobo, you won't have boot issues.
