how to remove write-protction from my flash drive

I cannot remove the write-protection from my 16Gb USB2.0 flash drive is there a quick way to do this

In my computer if you right click it, go to properties-security, then set yourself to have full control of the drive. Apply, than ok.

Most important Can you copy the files off this usb memory stick?

If so copy off any files you want to keep

What format?
NTFS
Fat 32
ExFat

See if ruffus or similar programs can re partition & format usb disk
If not device probably faulty

If this succeeds use h2testw to test the usb disk for hardware faults
