how to remove write protected from a usb drive on the Xbox 360

I was playing games and it worked fine my brother wanted to play so I went to his room we hooked it into his xbox my profile was gone I went back to my xbox looked at the problem and it said I can't copy anything on this drive make sure it's not write protected

Have you tried hooking the external USB drive to a Windows computer and see if it will be accessible from there? I'd recommend you to do that first and make sure you check how the HDD appears in Disk Management there and maybe give these write-protection resolutions a try: http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection
