How to reset Mobo password?

Hey so im going to buy more ram and an SSD,
However i just learnt that I had a password for my mobo which i forgot about
so i cant access the bios/setup for my mobo
How do I reset a Z97 PC mate mobo password?
Do i following steps;

-Turn off computer,
-take off battery for mobo for 30 minutes
-Install new ssd and RAM
-Put battery back on mobo
-Turn computer back on?
Are these the correct steps?

bypassing passwords or any form of security is against this forums rules

and most motherboards removing the battery doesnt work any way

or it would be a pretty poor security solution
