How to restore Windows sound scheme's to Windows 10? Example, Win 7 sound scheme's.

I did a search for "sound scheme" and found nothing on the first very long page of search results so I hope this question hasn't been answered 100 times already.

When I first installed Windows 10 it was an upgrade from 7, so the sound scheme's were still there. I've just done a fresh install and of course now they're gone. I do have the actual sounds which I found online, and I have a registry key that is suppose to add the sounds back but it was made for Windows 8.1 so I'm not comfortable injecting it into my nice newly cleaned registry without some sort of feedback. I know the sounds themselves have to go into the windows media folder which oddly enough still has the folders for the old sound schemes. I just don't know how to edit the registry so they show up as scheme's in the System Sounds settings.

Sure I could modify each sound manually and then save it as a scheme but what a pain that would be. 🙁

Thanks

Solution
1. Export your current sound scheme (windows 10) from registry and save it.
2. Import windows 8.1 sound scheme and test it.

If you're not satisfied with results, import back windows 10 sound scheme.

Sound scheme location in registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes

Thanks. I wasn't sure if re importing the old keys would overwrite the Win 8 keys or just add to them. Glad to have a way to revert back if it doesn't work. Other then completely backing up the whole registry. Suppose I should make a restore point to just in case.

Edit: Your instructions worked perfectly. I was even able to get a full set of sounds and registry keys here,

Those are the sounds. If you look at his comments there's a link to his "ready to insert" registry file. He even included the Windows 7 and 8 sounds.
