I'm a security installer putting in IP cameras. Easiest way to aim/focus is to connect my laptop into the POE switch the cameras are also plugged into, match my IP into the same subnet, and access the camera's browser-based setup page.
would like to "insert" a WiFi router between my laptop and the camera switch so I can climb ladders to aim cameras while holding laptop, minus the ethernet cord.
I got it working once before, but can't replicate it. Cameras have static IP's, as does my laptop.
Any thoughts on how to configure the Netgear N300 to pass-thru the signal without assigning IP's etc? When my laptop Wifi has a dynamically assigned IP, it's not in the same range as the static range I've addressed the cameras with.
Thoughts?
