How to set ram to proper speed?

I am currently using 3200 MHz RAM, but they are set to the default of 2133 MHz in the BIOS. There seem to be two ways: setting DRAM frequency and using MSI's "Memory Try it!", which should I use?
I'm just not sure if I would have to tinker with any other values too, but I don't want to overclock, I just want them to be at their normal speed.

What motherboard are you using?

I think you misunderstand, the 3200MHz speed REQUIRES overclocking, unless your motherboard support 3200 at a native frequency. But virtually all motherboards require RAM overclocking to reach above 2800MHz. So you HAVE to overclock technically speaking.

The 3200 is the RAMs maximum operating speed, but you need a motherboard that will support those speeds too.

You need to enable XMP in the BIOS for the RAM to run at it's advertised speeds. A RAM kit's advertised speeds, timings, and voltage, if they are above the JDEC standard, will not be applied until you enable XMP sometimes called DOCP on AMD mobo's. Or type them in manually.

If you are going over the DDR4 JDEC standard of 2133mhz you are technically overcloking, regardless of if your RAM was advertised at those speeds.

I believe MEM OK is just a fail safe for ram overclocking. If you set some bad memory settings in the BIOS and your system wont boot because of it, you would push that button to set the RAM back to default.
