Hi,

I have many folders and files opened, if during I have a chrome window and a notepad window opened side by side, I want to go to the desktop to open recycle bin or open a file, then I want see the chrome window and notepad window opened side by side again, how to do it?

I can click the bottom right corner once to see the desktop then immediately click the bottom right corner once to restore to the screen (a chrome window and a notepad window opened side by side) just before I see the desktop, but if I click the bottom right corner once to see the desktop then I click on any folder/file on the desktop then I click the bottom right corner, I will not be able to go back to restore to the screen (a chrome window and a notepad window opened side by side) just before I go to see the desktop.

I am using Windows 10 Pro

Thanks

The button on bottom right of the taskbar minimizes all current active windows and clicking it again, restores it.

So; when you have chrome + notepad opened, this is considered as current active desktop.
Clicking bottom right minimizes it. Click again and it brings everything back (as you found out).
Keyboard command for it is Win + D.

But if you then open up another program/folder/file, then this is now considered as current active desktop.
And bottom right button minimizes the newly opened program/folder/file (and brings it back when clicked there again). Hence your issue.

You can then bring chrome and notepad back by Alt + Tab command. (Hold Alt and press Tab to select between active programs to restore them.) It is fast and easier than locating them from your taskbar with your mice.

But what you ask of, can't be done, as far as i know. Taskbar "show desktop" button applies to the latest active desktop. It doesn't have "memory" for previous desktop configurations.

Similar to how clipboard by default works. It only contains the latest data you copied to it. But you can not access previous data, since it is overridden, once you copy new data into it.
With clipboard, you can enable it's memory though,
