2 Years back I built a system which is basically used for evaluation of OS/Application Software/Database. I'm quite happy with the performance but of lately its taking about 1 minute to restart, so thought of upgrading the drive of the OS.

Current Configuration

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87M-D3H
CPU: Intel i7 4770
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance
Harddisk: 3 Disks (2 - 1TB Segate Barracuda, 1 1TB WD Green)

Number of OS: 2 (Host)
1. Windows 10
2. Ubuntu 16.04

Number of OS in VM (in Ubuntu) currently: 4 (usually OS are installed/removed atleast once in 3 months which depends on testing/Evaluation new Applications/Database).

As I've never used SSD and have no idea if this configuration will support Samsung 850 EVO 250GB.

The questions are
1. Will it be compatible with the current configuration or should I look into other SSDs (I'm not planning to take huge dig into the pocket as I'm happy with the performance after booting)
2. Will it make booting process faster
3. Do I need to look into other aspects to speed up things

Solution
With SSD booting and restarting will be pretty much faster anyway but cutting down on number of startup programs, setting SATA to AHCI mode and connecting SSD to first SATA port while making it default BOOT disk, all of that helps.
