how to start the computer running on xp after getting a blue screen just before logging on?

The CPU had issues and it was worked on and the computer worked properly, but when i was trying to boot the PC for the second time after a while, it would load windows xp but just before logging in entirely, i was getting a blue screen. What could be the problem and solution? Could it be the cables on the motherboard???

Before we can help we will need a bit more information.

1) Who recently worked on the CPU, and do you know what they did to it? Why did they work on it in the first place?
2) Can you provide the most accurate description as you can of the internal components (eg, the Motherboard manufactured and model number)
3) What did the BSOD say, and what was the error code?
