Recently my computer has been freezing after the monitors turn back on from being idle. Essentially, once I move the mouse, the screens turn on, the displays update/refresh and then in a split second they freeze forever and I need to do a hard reset. I've had a similar issue before on this computer which I fixed by disabling Nvidia G-Sync, but now it's back despite the fix. This doesn't occur immediately after the screens turn off, it happens after the screens have been off for a couple hours. Things I've tried so far, and their effect:
This leads me to think there's something about the CPU coming out of a powersaving state that somehow is causing this problem. Any ideas on how to better diagnose/fix the issue? I don't want to keep my monitors on 24/7, I run a plex server off this computer. Not sure if the specs are important but it's Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 3070, 32 GB RAM. Thanks!
- Hybrid sleep. Still freezes, whether enabled or not.
- Nicehash GPU mining. Still freezes, whether enabled or not.
- CPU mining. Does not freeze when enabled.
- Using teamviewer from another PC to wake it up. Does not freeze.
- Setting monitors to never go to sleep. Does not freeze.
