How to stress test?

So I was wondering how to stress test a cpu. I have read that prime 95 is a good program to stress test with, but when you are about to start the torture test there are three options, so which should I take?

1. Small FFTs
2. inplace large FFTS
3. Blend

After I have chosen, how long time should I wait? Should I only wait, or is there more I need to do.

I already have downloaded HWmonitor, so I can check my MAX temp.

Solution
typically blend... it beats on a little of everything. leave it running for 24 hours if you want server level stability.

understand if you're using Prime95 on a piledriver it might not pass... piledriver doesn't work well with prime95... likely something to do with their FPU implementation... maybe something else. You're next best option for stressing a piledriver is something with a linepack stress test... typically the best piledriver stress test if you can't get prime to run is Intel Burn Test-AVX

The Prime95 stress test is a decent test that not only stresses the CPU but the RAM as well. I do not know the specifics and details of what exactly it is doing but even when no overclocking it is a good test for stability. I usually just leave the settings as they were maybe change the duration of each test from 8 minutes to 4 minutes. Leave it running for a few hours. IF you use motherboard's UEFI BIOS and make changes to CPU and RAM or anything else It is important to see if the System is Still Stable....
