I have realtek Gigabyte audio manager. With hyper cloud gaming headset. I was curious how do I switch from Speakers to Headset and microphone without plugging and unplugging?

Solution
wow, that looks different. I figured they just used the realtek skin but thats a completely different skin. All Asus do on theirs is rename it. what does the A - D line at bottom mean?

So anyway, are the speakers/microphone showing there your headset? have you tried right clicking the icons that represent your inputs (the green and pink icons on right) as it should let you select what they are and not just speakers

there should be an option in the options menu (who would have guessed) that makes front and rear separate playback channels, you seem to be using two green ones which might be cause.

what version are the drivers? latest are 6.0.1.7746
Do they all appear in the HD audio manager? Can't you just select the picture of headset and have it swap.. you might need to set it as default by right clicking picture. Shouldn't need to unplug them

I don't know the headsets, are they digital or USB? I guess if they were USB the realtek thing would just ignore them, it only powers digital & analog.

Right click the speaker icon on your task bar, choose playback devices, select the one you want and choose set Default. Some programs will not switch without being closed and restarted but that generally works.

Some software also lets you select the Audio device to use regardless of the default. For example I have Skype set to use my headset but the default is the speakers so everything else comes out there. That way I can talk on Skype with the headset and have my game sound coming out of the speakers with it's own volume control.

They are analog, I don't have the USB for it. It appears here

I'm not sure what to click, but I get tired of having to unplug and plug in headset every time.
