Ok, I know you are going to say that 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz are only for wireless connections, so they shouldn't have anything to do with my LAN connection.

Having said that, my internet plan is of 120Mb, and my computer, which is connected to my modem via an ethernet cable, should be getting all of it. However, this is not the case: I am always getting 90Mb.

The interesting thing is that this is the same speed I get on my cellphone when I am connected to my 2.4ghz wireless connection. I usually get 125Mb when I am using the 5.0ghz connection on my cellphone, so I was expecting the same thing, or perhaps more, with the ethernet connection.

Because of this, I suppose that, somehow, my computer is recognizing my modem as if it only had the 2.4ghz speed. Of course, this is just a conjecture, which I don't expect to be right. This is why I am asking for help: I would like to get the same speed as my 5ghz connection.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The only reason for 2.4 to be slower than 5ghz (at your rated speed) is theres just more interference on the 2.4ghz around you.

You can't make a wired connection switch to a different wireless band as it's not wireless.

You could choose to connect your PC wirelessly on the 5ghz band if you were inclined but I doubt that'll help
