I have a laptop with DDR4-2400. How can I tell if my laptop can be upgraded and how far?

By looking up the computer's specifications.

If you are referring to memory, the main things would be how many memory slots the laptop has, if any, and the maximum compatible size of memory any slots will accept. Also depends on if you plan on replacing all the memory or just adding, if a slot is empty.

The computer currently has 1 x 8 Gb DDR4-2400. I want to upgrade to 2 x 8 Gb DDR4-XXXX. Can i get a matched pair of DDR4-3200 for instance or can the laptop not take the 3200?

manually select the laptop or let it auto-scan it. it will tell you exactly how many slots, sizes and speeds the laptop can handle. then start shopping for what will work
