hello I have an MSI gaming laptop with a 1060 GTX in it all the stats are very good but it is not performing as well as it should with all the equipment it has I just bought a gaming tower that was custom built off of eBay for about $300 and I want to know if it is possible to take the graphics card out of my laptop and put it into the tower when it arrives

Even if you could remove the GPU from the laptop, then what would you do with it? find a graphics card with no gpu on it?

I dont think its possible to be honest.
As I said b4 any 1000 series GTX GPU will fit in any card if you don't believe me call Nvidia and ask them. They bought voodoo and back then I tried this and failed but that was probably because I was 16 at the time

I get the feeling you are serial ***. But please do show us the process of you de soldering a gpu from your laptop, then soldering it to a card and it actually working.

I learned most of what I know about hardware at a program called scrounge at Penn State York. They build computers out of donated parts for nonprofit groups like the daycare at the YMCA

Don't worry you will get them. As of tomorrow morning I will have four PCs to perform surgery on. An HP All-in-One an MSI gaming laptop an Asus gaming laptop and a custom gaming PC. And as I said I have all the tools. my shop is about 1000 square feet.

that is why I only buy PC have you ever tried to do this ---- on a Mac? you need a --------- torque set.

So you are going to use off-the self parts to take an already removable card and put it in an adapter made to use that card? https://www.notebookcheck.net/Euroc...-your-desktop-with-a-laptop-GPU.241042.0.html

Does not sound like much soldering or fancy work to me. Last post I read was to remove a video card from a motherboard and have it work in a desktop, that would be a neat trick. Taking out an MXM card and plopping it into a MXM card made for it is not that. Which came from another person's post to begin with https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...d-from-a-gaming-laptop-to-a-pc-tower.3456541/

The 1060 card you want to transfer is not a removable one.
