Question How to troubleshoot PRIME B450M-A II sometimes stuck at boot ?

The problem is inconvenient but not severe. I have an ASUS PRIME B450M-A II motherboard that has been working great so far. Very recently I upgraded the RAM from 32G to 64G. I used another pair of the memory type (CMK32GX4M2E3200C16) that was already installed. I also added a 2nd display.

Since then, every once in a while when I start up, the power led and the hdd led stay on but nothing else happens (no initial beep, no error code to hear). When I press the power button for a soft off, the system doesn't respond. When I press reset, the system starts up normally.

The only idea I had was that it might be a RAM check that has never finished because of the resets. But wouldn't that happen after the initial beep and with screen output?

How would I start to gather information about this problem?

that could be it. Ryzen picky about ram as it is, but when you put two sets together, even if exactly same ram, you can get strange problems you didn't have before.

Sets only tested to work with the other sticks in that set. If all you get is a random boot problem, it could be worse and cause BSOD instead.

If you want 64gb of ram, buy a set of 64gb
