How to upgrade Megatouch XL to XL Platinum?

Hi all.

I just purchased an XL Platinum Dallas key and version 1.03 CD. I have a
Megatouch XL converted to hard drive and 32MB memory. Can someone tell me
what I need to do to properly upgrade the game to the Platinum version?

Remove HDD you dont need it. install CD rom drive then install Key, if
the key looks like a watch battery with a plastic handle you need the
"spoon" key adapter Merit p/n SA10053-01 then insert CD and turn on the
game.

Hi Gary.

I did as you said. The game launches megacdll.exe and then a blank screen
comes on. About 30 seconds later an error comes up and says "Hard Drive Copy
Failure".

It "sees" the key fine.

What next?

Does the Platinum CD say CD version or upgrade? If it says CD version
install a CD drive not a HDD.

It is a copy of the original cd. How do I verify which it is?

Here is the contents of Launchit.bat from the cd.

I assume since drive F: is the CD-ROM drive, that this is the CD version??

Well try this: Remove the HDD, put in a CD drive, put CD in drive then
turn game on.

Check jumper JP-1 on the motherboard. Open = HDD, Closed = CD-ROM

On the MB or CRT-500 board? I'll have to take off the CRT board to get at
the jumpers..
