With the number of websites requiring sign-in credentials, it can be difficult to keep track of usernames and passwords created for each one. The autofill feature available in the Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) now allows you to securely save and edit addresses, credit card numbers, passwords, and other payment information in the Microsoft Edge browser.

In this tutorial, we will explain how to make use of the autofill feature in Microsoft Edge.

1. Launch Microsoft Edge
Press the Windows key to open the start menu –> scroll down to Microsoft Edge -> Click the Microsoft Edge icon to launch the app.

2. Ensure That the Save Passwords Feature Is Turned On
On the top right of the browser, click the Settings and More button (the 3 horizontal dots) -> Settings -> View Advanced Settings -> under autofill settings, ensure that the switch is set to on for Save Passwords

3. Navigate to Website That Requires a Password or Web Form to Be Filled Out
In the address bar, type the URL of the website whose form data you would like to save. In this example we will be using ebay.com.

4. Offer to save your password
Sign up or log in using your credentials -> click Yes in the popup dialog box to save your password.

This process works in the way for form entries and credit card. Names, addresses, and credit cards numbers are just some of the information that you can choose to save in the browser. Note that for security reasons Microsoft Edge does not save credit card CVV numbers.

5. Using Autofill on Your Next Visit
On the same website that you saved your password, click on an empty field to view the autofill options -> click on your saved password. The autofill feature will now automatically populate the other fields based on what was saved before.

On the top right of the browser, click the Settings and More button (the 3 horizontal dots) -> Settings -> View advanced settings -> under autofill settings click either manage passwords, manage form entries or manage cards.

Here you can either add new autofill data or edit saved autofill entries. For example, if you recently moved, you can update the autofill settings to reflect your change in address. Simply click on manage form entries and
select the fields you would like to edit.
