Hi there I was wondering if it was possible to convert a stereo cable to mono? I am working on rewiring a Guitar Hero World Tour Drum set and need to replace the symbol cable that uses mono. Here's some pictures of what I have done so far.
Here's the stereo cables I am working with.
This is the electrical wire I plan to use.
Here's my right symbol for the drum set.
Original black and white mono cable connect to drum set.
My plan at the moment is to tape up the unneeded silver ground wire on the stereo cable with some electrical tape and just use and connect the red and white audio wires to there own electrical wire that will connect to the original left over mono wire. So what I need to know is how do I use my stereo cable as mono and connect it to the left over black and white mono wire? I was also wondering if it was true that since the symbol uses mono and I am using stereo will it send the right audio down the ground wire if so will it effect gameplay in anyway? So will my plan work or am doing some thing wrong? If you guys have any suggestions or know a better way I would love to hear it! I totally appreciate the help thanks! - djcjf
