So, i plan to upgrade my PC, to enable me to play games such as BF4, Skyrim, Arma 3, DayZ, on Maxium > Very high settings. These are the components that i plan to purchase. I was wondering if you could tell me if they would all be compatible, and about what FPS would these games run at?

AMD FX8320
Radeon HD 7970 3gb
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Mobo
Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600
CiT 750W PSU

Thanks for any replies.

Should be fine on Very High, or at least High. Your GPU is fairly middle of the road as far as how powerful it is, but you shouldn't have much of a problem especially combined with the 8320.

Micro ATX is the step below the standard ATX size. The board usually will measure about 9.5 x 9.5. That card is a big boy, it may not fit. You may also end up covering your PCIe x1 slot since that card is a dual slot.

Also, i dont have any form of component cooling, other than the standard CPU cooler and a couple of case fans. I do not plan on overclocking, so will i need a different cooling system or not?

You'll get a bit higher FPS if you have a better cooling solution, but you don't HAVE to have one unless you absolutely need extremely high FPS. It's only a difference if maybe 4-7 FPS.

Get a better powersupply, Corsair, Antec, or Seasonic (one of their 650watt units will be plenty). While this one claims 750watts, it's really pretty weak:

You'll average close to 70 FPS on BF4 Ultra:

Skyrim is light weight on GPU, you do about 80 FPS
