Hello, the old way I used to do it, was by throwing in the CD it comes with and install the drivers!
However I already have its latest driver that also works with my current graphics card!
So will it detect the new graphics card without inserting the CD?

Solution
Just reinstall it over the top without uninstalling the existing one first - that's all you need to do.

You will absolutely 100% have to do this even with an nvidia to nvidia GPU upgrade.
You will still need to download the newest driver from the manufacturers website. The Windows Driver Store has a lot of generic drivers for devices so you can get basic functionality. You do not need to use the disc that came with the graphics card if you download the newest driver.

Your pc will use the card as a "typical vga adapter" It will work though with some low resolution and without aero, after that you will need to download the newest drivers from nvidia's or amd's website so you can use it normally

If the driver for the new card is the same as required for my old card's, will everything be completed with no other installations whatsoever? (Just hardware change and I'm set?)
Because from NVIDIA , the 359.06 states that it is both for my 660 and my upcoming 980Ti

Ok, thank you very much! We'll see how it goes..
If perhaps it doesn't recognize the 980TI, how will i uninstall and re-install the same driver? (I always just download the new one and it deletes the old one, replacing it self were the old one was, so I'm not familiar with this different process.)

No, I mean how will i Uninstall and re-install the same driver? Because up until now i was installing new ones, neglecting and deleting the old ones, I've never attempted to install the same driver twice!
