So I have 2 monitors; one that's connected to my computer and the other connected to my consoles (Switch and PS4). What I'm trying to do is see if I can take the audio that plays from my console monitor over to my computer so that way I can hear my console games through my headphones instead of having the audio play through my monitors speakers. I hope that makes sense? I can re-explain if needed.

So my question is, how would I do this? Also please explain to me like I'm 8 because I don't know much about plugging audio cables in. I thought I could just plug in the headphones jack on the monitor since that other jack is audio in and headphones jack means audio out, right? Then I plugged that into the back of my pc in the blue jack cause I think that's line in? I don't know if anyone of you can explain how I can do this but please let me know. I feel like it's not that complicated or hard to do.

Make and model monitors?

Make and model headphones?

What you want to avoid is some sort of audio loop. That is some combined audio connections go from A to B to C to D to A again.

A circle of connections.

You should be able to plug the headphones jack directly into the monitor.

However, before doing so refer to the applicable monitor's User Guide/Manual.

And you also need to have some understanding of TR, TRS, and TRRS. All being audio related options: mono, stereo....

In addition to the above, if you open the Control Panel Sound app, and select the Record tab, is the Line Input set to Enabled and selected as the Default input device, and are the input levels set?
