How would I overclock my CPU

I have a

AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight Core

With a liquid cooling system.

I am starting to stream games I play at 1080P and so far I have not gone over 50% cpu Usage, I was wandering if overclocking would cause complications? my motherboard has something called XBOOST and everytime i turn it on it blue screens shortly into gameplay, How would I go about overclocking my CPU? would I even need to, im only streaming League of Legends, It seemsfine so far.

You can overclock your CPU two ways. Firstly you can do it in the BIOS. You can set the voltage, frequency etc of your CPU. The second method is changing the power settings. If you have the programs CCC or EPU-4 Engine then you can change the performance from power saver to high performance. I have the FX-300 CPU and I have everything on High performance. In CCC you can set the minimum and maximum your CPU frequency runs at.

If you have the most up to date bios then definitely doing it in the BIOS :)
 


Whatever brand your motherbaord you go to their website and they will have a section either called downloads, software or drivers. For example my motherboard is the Asus Croshair Formula-z V so I would go to the Asus website.

You will probably have the up to date version already so you simply have to go press f1, f2 or Del when your PC is booting up and then you will be directed to the bios. What is your motherboard I will try and find a help guide for overclocking specifically on your motherboard.
