Question How would you name your multiplayer gameplay videos that have no commentary ?

I'm not sure it is the right forum for this, but it is related to PC gaming in a way: I upload a ton of 4K 60FPS multiplayer game footage to Youtube with no commentary, especially of older games (my videos are mostly centered around showing that older games are still alive and well). I've had a ton of trouble trying to figure out how to title my videos and how to design thumbnails (or if they're really needed at all).

Some examples of video titles are:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer 2024 on Apocalypse [4K 60FPS]
  • [PC] Insurgency Sandstorm in 2024 - Gang War Push gameplay (No commentary) 4K 60FPS
  • Medal of Honor Allied Assault in 2024 - Multiplayer gameplay (No commentary) 4K 60FPS #7
  • Counter-Strike 2 | Multiplayer 2024 | No commentary | Office | DM | ULTRA 4K 60FPS
  • Counter-Strike 1.6 | Multiplayer gameplay 2024 [No commentary, 4K 60FPS] #1

Any tips or opinions on the naming sequence (which ones looks better/more appealing), information I should add or leave out?

Thanks for any help!

What are your requirements to search, sort, and otherwise filter the collection of video titles?

What software is or will be used for searching and sorting?

Do you need wild cards? For example: searching "*24*" would result in all video titles that have 2024 in them.

Versus last year (2023) via "*23*" or next year "*25*" (2025).

[Actual format for wildcard searches can and does vary.]

How, would you find

"[PC] Insurgency Sandstorm in 2024 - Gang War Push gameplay (No commentary) 4K 60FPS"

if looking for games that are not multiplayer?

The important part is to be consistent.

For example always use "No commentary" or "Multiplayer".

And be sure to only use allowed characters in folder and file names.

Hey, thanks for the reply! The consistency part is probably quite important!

In terms of naming - I'm talking about YouTube naming for SEO, or how best to name the videos so that it will attract more viewers. I've switched back and forth quite a lot in terms of adding more detail and numbering videos vs no numbering and less detail (adding map name and game mode vs. just putting "[game name] multiplayer gameplay in 2024 no commentary"

why would anyone want to watch you play?
the only thing I can think of is tell people you can play the game on ancient pc
I have 142 subs, not too much, but some. People do watch, and occasionally write comments. I do it more for myself, I enjoy it, even though I'll never "go big" as they say.

How to attract more viewers which really means being "found" to begin with.....

There have been many books written about SEO.

And there are many, many online sources.

For example (not an endorsement or recommendation):

https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo

= = = =

You do need to have an intuitive and consistent naming scheme.

For example someone may search for "Sandstorm" and then realize that "Insurgency Sandstorm" will narrow the results much more quickly.

Generally searches work out going from general to specific.

What really matters is the quality of your offerings and commentary.

How do viewers benefit? Needs to at least be fun to watch and listen.

So people will bookmark your website and return accordingly.

And if you are just doing it all for youself then just have fun and do not get hung up on SEO etc...

Fair enough, but it is more fun when people watch! I guess I'll stop worrying so much about the video titles and just keep posting :D
