i'm planning to buy a headset mainly use for gaming and seen a lot of good review on hyperx cloud 1 or 2 but also i've read that the headset probably last only a year? is this true? also should i get the 1 or 2 or recommend me under 100$ i need closed cans cause my pc is loud at max fan speed. thanks

Most reviews you will see are people who had a bad experience, and want to complain.
Someone like me bought their cloud IIs, has had no issues with them, so I have no real reason to go back and complain. Id rather just go about my day using them.

Ive had mine for just over 2 years (they have only been out for 2 years an 1 month, I preordered mine) and they have been great ever since.
Who said that? The HyperX Cloud has great build quality and audio quality.

I'm not sure about the 2.0's, but the HyperX Cloud 1's I'm using have lasted 2 years now and there is no regression in performance.

Same for my friends. I would recommend the HyperX Cloud 1 in general to be honest, all the new one offers is gimmicky virtual surround.

Headphones: Kingston HyperX Cloud Headset ($72.99 @ Amazon)

well i'm more of a story mode guy so i want immersive sound. but i also play shooting games like battlefield or call of duty just gaming in general i don't stick to one genre if the game is good, i play it.

ive seen some comments like 2 guys bought them at the same time and both broke in just 1 year. and a comment that says every year it broke, he just replaced them every year cause its still under warranty. and i think the mic is the one to break first. the complaints are not the build quality, the cans stop producing sounds after a year. so i want to confirm if this is a common issue. anyway, 2 years huh... not bad thats fine for me.

I guess so, yeah.

I wouldn't worry about those people saying theirs broke. Customer one-liner reviews really shouldn't have any constructive value to them, It's the product reviewers who test theirs that matter.

It's the most solidly build headset on the market for what you're paying.

Well now i confirmed that it can last. can i use the cloud 2 in stereo? the dongle is not required to use right? the headset has a 3.5 jack to connect and a dongle for you to optionally connect it there or it has to be connected to the dongle for it to work?. because i probably wont be able to find the cloud 1 anymore here in my country. so if i can use the cloud 2's in stereo its like using a cloud 1? (just in case if i didn't like the dongle it comes with. i want to be sure if i can still use it without it)
