I have my sights set on a rig, which would be used for extreme gaming and high-end audio production.
Is this a good price? How long would it be good for? Should I change any of the specs? Please share your wisdom!

A few things to know...

Hard Drive~I need a lot of hard drive space. Some of my audio files can reach 300GB prior to compression ^^ And don't even get me started on my sample libraries.

USB~I use external peripherals A LOT, especially external hard drives and MIDI controllers.

Memory~My audio applications like to suck up RAM, so 24GB is sort of my minimum.

Monitors~I don't need 3D, though I do put dual-monitors to work. Especially in audio applications.

That is an absolute beast of a system you have planned.

I take it your a music producer/engineer and doing quite well for yourself!

Spec of the machine should be ok for atleast 5 years to come tbh.

I respect your opinion, though I would like to know why I should grab a Sandy Bridge instead.
