You can try using a can of compressed air. Basically all it does is blow dust away, which should be enough for your purposes. Just make sure you don't hit delicate parts at the wrong angle!

well, it collects lot of dust over a period of time.. some of it, sort of does not come off by blowing air..
also, it would be cool if there was some kind of liquid that does not damage the components but cleans the extraneous material and gives a shiny new look..
I also use a med-soft paintbrush, delicately brushing over components (but not in sensitive areas ie.... PCI, memory slots etc...) after using canned air, and then agian after brushing.
