hp 7760 says incompatible cartridge and won't print

My hp 7760 shows an incompatible cartridge message on the hp 58 photo cartridge how do I fix this it is a brand new hp cartridge?

Try re-seating it, power cycle the printer. If that does not work, return it for a different one and try that.

Make sure you read the manual, the 58 is a special photo cartridge (the regular color ink is 57) and may need something to be set on the printer to use it properly.
