This laptop is HP and it's over 5 years old.And when you take out the AC Cable It instantly shuts off.So yesterday I dug around in the power options and found what I though was the problem.I changed around the vaules Ex: Reserve battery-98% (wtf?)
Low battery-98% (wtf?!)
Critical-96% (BS)
The numbers were similar to this.I changed them and it seemed to work ,but the next day It still shuts off instantlly when you pull the plug.Last night It said it will hold for 20 ish minutes. But not today.
The number are now:
Reserve Battery-5%
Low battery- 30%
Critical battery-16%
Why is it shuting off when I pull the AC cable out? It's like the battery is not there!

Hello,

Unfortunately you have to change the battery, there's no workaround for this.

It's best to use a original battery, but a replacement will work also (the laptop is getting old and an original battery can be very expensive).
