hey guys i am planning to buy the HP Compaq 15-s008TU Notebook but i want to upgrade it to an ssd so i want to know can i put an ssd in this laptop will it support it and which sata does this motherboard have SATA II or SATA III and also does it have AHCI

i managed to find out the chipset on the motherboard its QM87 if this helps

Yes. All the laptop needs is a SATA port, and just about EVERY laptop made within the last 10 years or so has it. You can learn which SATA port it uses by running a system information utility; try HWiNFO64. That will tell you whether it's SATA II or SATA III. And yes, it will have AHCI and it should be an option in the BIOS.

ok how do u run a system information utility and yes the comp has a sata port does that mean that every computer with a sata port can support an ssd ??

see the problem is i dont know which processor to go for one laptop has i3 4th gen dual core processor
other has (Pentium-N3540 processor whch is 2.66 ghz which one is better what should i choose

The Core i3 is better than the Pentium. Notice, however, that the laptop with the i3 (in the first link) comes with Free-DOS, NOT Windows.
