Alright so I was wondering whether the dv9700t would be a decent notebook for college and light gaming.
Here is my config:
* – Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (32-bit)
* – Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T8300 (2.40 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
* – 17.0" diagonal WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)
* – 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
* – 50% OFF 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS!!
* – FREE Upgrade to HP Imprint (Radiance) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone
* – Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection
* – 240GB 7200RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (120GB x 2)
* – LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
* – No TV Tuner w/remote control
* – High Capacity 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
* – Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
* – HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope
Which comes out to $1403.99
I'm also getting the 3-year HP Accidental Damage Protection with Pick Up and Return Extended Service Plan for HP Pavilion and Presario Notebook PCs (Not included in price I posted)
Is this a good deal? Also has anyone heard or experienced any problems with this notebook? Cooling? Battery life?
I plan on down grading the OS to XP pro when I get it, and I was wondering if finding drivers are going to be a problem.
If anyone has any suggestions on different brands that offer a similar set up around the same price range please tell me ^_^
Thanks in advance!
